Back in November we were privileged to photograph a wedding of Marianne and Daniel at All Saints church of Bakewell and at Hassop Hall, a beautiful Derbyshire venue in the middle of the Peak District National Park. Here is our Hassop Hall wedding photography post.
This time we’ve decided to do it more interesting and informative by putting some wedding tips and useful information from the bride and groom themselves! Marianne and Daniel kindly agreed to give us a small interview which we are delighted to include here.
How did you two meet?
We got introduced by mutual tennis friends whilst out on a night out in Derby on 11th Feb 2012.
How did he pop the question?
Dan proposed on the steps of Monaco Cathedral where other princesses had been proposed to and have got married
What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
Our vows to becoming husband and wife in front of all our family and friends
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
Amazing – best day ever!! Surrounded by friends and family sharing our love for each other and having one fabulous party!
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Relax and enjoy – the most important thing is becoming man and wife, the rest is a bonus
Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
I bought my dress at Lori G (after having already bought a dress at a wedding fair and not liking it in the slightest in the shop at the 2nd viewing). The service that Lori G provide and the personal touch are unique in my opinion. Taking and making time for you and making you feel very special. Lorraine picked one out that I never would have picked and as soon as I put this dress on I felt like a princess (which isn’t something I was expecting to feel).
How was your experience taking photos/working with us on your wedding day?
I liked the fact that you both just got on and do what you do best without ‘interfering’. I would have liked to take more photo’s during the day like we did with the engagement shoot but there wasn’t that much spare time as we’d hoped for (but that’s what happens on a wedding day!).
Have you had an engagement session? If so, please, describe your experience? Would you recommend to have an engagement photo shoot to other couples?
Yes. At first we thought the engagement shoot was a little ‘cringey’ and not our thing but seeing the photo’s, we were very impressed and have been able to share a lot of them with family members wanting a copy of at least one or more! It’s a nice thing to do and helps perhaps in ‘posing’ for the wedding pictures with a little bit more practice :)!
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?
Be decisive on your decision making – helps speed up the process and makes life easy!
As for us, wedding photographers, that was a fabulous day with gorgeous bride and handsome groom, with sunny and warm weather in the middle of November and, of course, with fantastic wedding atmosphere! Guys, wishing you only the very best for your married life!
