Hi there
Today I’d like to introduce you to Kemp and Kemp Catering and talk about wedding food trends.
Karen of Kemp and Kemp Catering knows that whilst there are trends that should certainly be ignored (charcoal activated anything!) there is one trend that has most definitely lit her culinary candle: modern eating.
As a chef wed to an avid carnivore, ‘it’s nice but it needs something more’, is a phrase that could often be heard when Richard is handed a meat-free meal.
In recent years, the Kemps have noticed that clients are increasingly requesting fresher, cleaner and generally lighter food on their wedding day – regardless of dietary requirements, or beliefs.
Karen knows that the basics of modern eating are still the same – it’s all about creating food with flavours, textures and colour that are sure to pack a punch. Creating menus that will make even the most dedicated meat-eaters say WOW.
Ever since enlightening herself with the genius that is Anna Jones and her utterly brilliant cook books, Karen has been experimenting with meatless recipes, growing increasingly excited to showcase the ones that are ‘Kemp and Kemp certified’. Jones has an alternative take on veggie food without the usual tediousness expected, which gave Karen a completely different perspective on the topic.
Catering for their first ever all veggie wedding was, of course, daunting but since hearing the fantastic feedback, Karen has been preparing for the incoming wedding season with an array of meat-free dishes with a heavy influence from deliciousness that is Ottolenghi… Anyone for leek and potato frittata?
If we’ve caught your interest, you can view Karen’s veggie and vegan menu ideas, or if you’re looking for a bit of help, get in touch , Karen would love to hear from you and will be happy to offer advice, so that your modern menu ticks all the boxes.
Hope this info was helpful for you.
